InterContinental Sapporo, opened in October 2025, is the first international luxury hotel of its kind in the city and sits in the Nakajima Park area. It is a four-minute walk from Exit 1 of Nakajima-Koen Station on the Namboku Subway Line, positioned between the Toyohira River and the greenery of Nakajima Park. While the location offers easy access to Susukino and Odori by subway or taxi, it also provides a calm, park-side atmosphere despite being close to central Sapporo.

The hotel occupies floors 9 to 14 of the mixed-use Lilac Square building and offers 149 guest rooms, including 13 suites. All rooms are at least 42 sqm, with categories such as Classic (approx. 42–43 sqm), Premium (approx. 50–58 sqm), Junior Suite (approx. 72 sqm), and One-Bedroom Suite (approx. 87 sqm), allowing guests to choose according to their needs and budget. Interiors feature warm wood tones and earth colors, and large windows provide views of Nakajima Park, the cityscape, or the surrounding mountains.

In-room amenities include complimentary Wi-Fi, individual climate control, a safe, minibar, and Nespresso machine. Bathrooms are spacious with both a rain shower and bathtub as standard. Higher room categories offer upgrades such as marble bathrooms, double vanities, and generous living areas, making them suitable for longer stays or special occasions.

Guests staying in Club rooms and Suites have access to the Club InterContinental Lounge on the top floor. The lounge offers sweeping views of the city and nearby mountains, along with all-day services including breakfast, afternoon tea, evening cocktails, and nightcaps. Dedicated concierges assist with check-in, check-out, and various arrangements, providing a quiet and refined base for both business and leisure travelers.

The hotel features three distinct dining venues. The all-day dining restaurant “Aubrun” focuses on Western cuisine incorporating Hokkaido ingredients and serves everything from breakfast buffets to lunch and dinner, with a bakery counter on-site. “Sawaka,” a contemporary Japanese restaurant with a kappo-style approach, offers seasonal kaiseki and à la carte dishes served at the counter or in courses. The Lounge & Bar “Nova” overlooks the Toyohira River and provides a relaxed setting for coffee, afternoon tea, cocktails, and whisky, with terrace seating available in summer.

Among the hotel’s facilities, the heated indoor pool and fitness center stand out. The pool faces the mountain side and features a proper lap lane for swimming, along with well-equipped changing and shower areas. The fitness center includes treadmills, bikes, and weight machines, making it easy for guests to maintain their routine even on business trips.

The lobby and public areas emphasize natural light, glass elements, and open vertical space, creating an airy atmosphere that connects the indoors with the surrounding greenery. Several small meeting spaces are available for business gatherings or small events, supporting stays that combine work and leisure.

Access from New Chitose Airport is smooth, with JR Rapid Airport trains reaching Sapporo Station in about 40 minutes, followed by a short subway ride on the Namboku Line to Nakajima-Koen Station. Susukino is just one stop away and also reachable on foot, making the hotel convenient for sightseeing, dining, and shopping. Parking is available on-site, though guests are advised to check the latest conditions on the official website.

Overall, InterContinental Sapporo is well suited for travelers seeking a luxury stay in the Nakajima Park area with a balance of tranquility and urban convenience. Spacious rooms of 42 sqm and above, a Club Lounge, pool and fitness facilities, diverse dining options, and a location close to both park and city attractions make it an appealing choice for a Sapporo getaway or a base for exploring Hokkaido.
